The school is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates who are able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education for the following position to be based at St Therese’s Catholic School in Moonah. 

School Finance Officer
1.0 FTE 38 hours per week
Limited Tenure: Parental Leave
28 April 2025 – 27 February 2026

St Therese’s Catholic School is a Catholic, co-educational school (K-6) that has provided a quality and Christ-centred education for students in the Moonah area and surrounds for over 90 years. Today, a dedicated and professional staff carry on the spirit and traditions of our founders, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

This position will assist the Principal with the financial management of the school and be required to demonstrate: 

  • Effectiveness in financial and accounting functions (including accounts payable, accounts receivable and end of month procedures)
  • Experience in preparing and analysis of budget and monthly financial reports
  • Ability to follow specified policies, procedures and internal control and audit processes
  • Experience in maintaining personnel records and payroll system for staff
  • Proficiency in the use of computerised processing and commercial finance systems
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities in an office environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a wider team environment
  • Commitment to personal and team effectiveness 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2018.
