St James Catholic College, Cygnet, a Kindergarten - Year 10 co-educational College in the Huon Valley is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the position of:

Utility/Maintenance Officer
Ongoing position
0.36 FTE / 2 days per week
42 weeks per year

The school is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Utility Officer who is able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.

As the Utility/Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including general repairs, preventive maintenance, and groundskeeping duties. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards will play a crucial role in preserving the school's infrastructure and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements:

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, students, and contractors.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.
- A current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or the ability to obtain one.

To be eligible applicants require:

  • Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania)
  • Experience in maintenance, gardens, grounds and general cleaning
  • Experience in WHS and manual handling practices

  • A willingness to work in a team environment
