Star of the Sea Catholic College is a co-education school with an enrolment of approximately 190 students from Kindergarten to Year 10, situated in George Town, Tasmania.

Are you an organised and friendly individual who thrives in a dynamic environment? Star of the Sea Catholic College is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to be the welcoming face and administrative backbone of our school community. 

Administrative Assistant
Ongoing – Part Time
(Monday to Thursday)
Commencing 19th June 2025

As the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the school’s operations while embodying our Catholic identity and mission. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating a positive environment for learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide warm, professional reception and frontline support.
  • Manage routine enquiries and office communications efficiently.
  • Maintain student, staff, and school records with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Assist with general administrative duties including correspondence, scheduling, minute-taking, and data entry.
  • Support financial processes such as receipting, petty cash, and invoicing.
  • Help coordinate meetings, school events, and staff records.
  • Uphold the school’s welcoming environment by maintaining tidy office and reception areas.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion, and professional integrity.
  • Flexible and reliable team player who works well under minimal supervision.
  • A commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

The successful candidate must have general administration and finance experience and be competent in all facets of general office administration and a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a wider team environment.  Familiarity within an educational environment would be an advantage.

Salary will be in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2025.
