Work Health & Safety Officer 1.0 FTE - Full Time (Part - time considered)
Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is a vibrant community of 38 schools and colleges, educating over 17,000 students and supported by more than 2,400 dedicated staff across Tasmania.
We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Manager: Risk, Work Health Safety and Compliance (RWC), you will play a key role in fostering safe, compliant, and supportive learning environments that enhance student outcomes and meet legislative obligations
As Work Health & Safety Officer, you will:
Strengthen WHS compliance measures and risk mitigation strategies across CET schools.
Ensure adherence to WHS legislation and CET policies.
Support schools in maintaining hazard/risk registers and implementing annual WHS plans.
Assist with incident and hazard investigations.
Facilitate risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Promote a proactive safety culture across the education community.
Contribute to CET’s compliance with WHS and child safety legislation.
Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are:
Proven experience in developing and implementing WHS strategies in dynamic environments.
Strong communication and training delivery skills.
Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS or equivalent experience
Current Tasmanian vehicle driver licence
