Operations Project Coordinator

 1.0 FTE Full Time Ongoing

Catholic Education Tasmania is seeking an Operations Project Coordinator to lead, coordinate and deliver operational, building and maintenance projects across our statewide network of schools and corporate facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the long‑term sustainability and safety of educational environments for thousands of students and staff.

As a key member of the Capital Planning and Infrastructure team, you will:

  • Coordinate a wide range of operations, maintenance and facility management projects across CET sites.
  • Oversee contracts, budgets, compliance programs and on‑ground project delivery.
  • Lead essential safety, maintenance and compliance programs including statutory maintenance, asbestos management, tree and playground safety, electrical and glazing compliance, energy‑efficiency initiatives, and evacuation and emergency readiness.
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, contractors, consultants, government bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide high-level technical advice to school leaders and staff.
  • Contribute to strategic asset management and long‑term planning.

Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Advanced digital capability, including proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office and facility/asset management systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  • Sound judgement, decision‑making capability and the confidence to work autonomously.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with initiative, innovation and a solutions‑focused approach.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Effective collaboration, consultation and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial literacy, including budgeting and forecasting capability.
