The school is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education for the following position to be based at Bellerive.

Teacher Assistant

Part-Time, Ongoing

17.48 hours per week - 0.38 FTE

Term Time Only

Commencing 4 May 2026

About the Role:

The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting high‑quality learning outcomes for students. Working under the general direction of teachers and the Principal, the Teacher Assistant provides educational, behavioural, and personal support to students, contributing to an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in the delivery of educational programs and learning activities.
  • Provide individual and small‑group support to students across a range of learning needs.
  • Assist in implementing intervention strategies and monitoring student progress.
  • Support students from diverse cultural, linguistic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Assist students with routines such as timetables, homework and organisational skills.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive school environment.

Required Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Commitment to supporting student learning and wellbeing.
  • Ability to relate to students with varying needs. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with students, colleagues and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Sound literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and apply initiative.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
  • Current and satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check.

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Education Support.
  • Experience working in an education setting.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
