School Finance Specialist
1.0 FTE Ongoing

Catholic Education Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled and motivated School Finance Specialist to join our School Finance Team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager: School Operations, you will play a key role in supporting financial compliance and financial management systems across our Shared Funded Schools. You will provide expert advice and support to School Finance staff and Leadership Teams, ensuring effective financial practices, system compliance and continuous improvement.

Working with TechnologyOne and Compass, you will support users, deliver training, manage key financial processes and contribute to the development and implementation of system improvements across schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and advice to School Finance staff and Leadership Teams.
  • Manage finance system helpdesk queries and user support.
  • Support financial compliance through billing, debt management and EOM/EOY processes.
  • Deliver training and develop user guides and support resources.
  • Conduct school visits and provide financial systems support.
  • Assist with testing, rollout and implementation of new TechnologyOne modules and enhancements.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

About You
You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys supporting others and improving systems. You have:

  • Experience with financial management systems and financial processes.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor qualification in Business, Financial Management or a related discipline, and/or extensive relevant experience in finance, financial systems or a related field. Applicants who do not hold a formal qualification but can demonstrate significant relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in financial management systems and school financial processes.
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment).
  • Current National Police Criminal History Check.
  • Accreditation A: Accreditation to work in a Catholic school, or the ability to obtain.

Desirable

  • Experience with TechnologyOne and Compass.
  • Understanding of governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.

Additional Information

This role is based in Southern Tasmania and includes periodic travel to schools across the state, including occasional overnight stays.
