St Joseph's Catholic School is seeking passionate, innovative and committed teachers to join our welcoming school community on Tasmania's spectacular West Coast.

Located in the picturesque mining town of Rosebery, St Joseph's is a co-educational Catholic primary school with approximately 40 students. As one of only two Catholic schools on the West Coast, we play an important role in the life of the West Coast Parish, serving families from Rosebery, Zeehan and Tullah.

About the Role

As a Teacher at St Joseph's Catholic School, you will:

  • Support the spiritual, academic and wellbeing development of all students.
  • Promote and uphold the Catholic identity and mission of the school.
  • Create engaging, inclusive and safe learning environments.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching aligned with the Australian Curriculum and contemporary best practice.
  • Develop positive and productive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
  • Collaborate with staff to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Support student growth through effective assessment, feedback and reporting practices.
  • Participate actively in school events, professional learning and community life.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for educators who:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the aims, values and philosophy of Catholic Education.
  • Have a strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Foster inclusive classrooms that celebrate diversity and individual learning needs.
  • Show a commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration.
  • Can teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or are willing to work towards accreditation requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
  • Teacher Registration in Tasmania, or the ability to obtain registration before commencement.
  • Accreditation C: Accreditation to Teach Religious Education in a Catholic School, or a willingness to work towards obtaining this accreditation.
  • Commitment to upholding Catholic beliefs, values and the Archbishop's Charter for Catholic Schools.
  • Current Driver's Licence

Desirable

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience across a range of year levels and school settings.

Catholic Education Tasmania and St Joseph’s Catholic School are committed to supporting the rights of children and young people and providing a safe and supportive environment for them. The successful candidate will require satisfactory child safety checks and registrations.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
