Finance Business Partner  
1.0 FTE Ongoing

Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial advice, analysis, and insights that support informed decision-making and long-term sustainability across our school network.

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, you will partner with school leaders and key stakeholders to drive financial performance, optimise reporting, and support government funding, compliance, and strategic planning initiatives.

About the Role

In this diverse and influential role, you will:

  • Develop financial models, forecasts, and performance reporting.
  • Analyse school performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide expert advice on government funding and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Principals, Business Managers, and leadership teams as a trusted financial advisor.
  • Support strategic projects including workforce planning, enterprise agreement negotiations, and capital funding initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.

About You

You are a commercially-minded finance professional with a passion for using data and insights to influence business outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification.
  • Significant experience in financial management, planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of government funding frameworks and financial compliance requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience in the education, government, or not-for-profit sectors and knowledge of TechnologyOne are highly regarded.

Requirements

The successful applicant will hold or be able to obtain:

  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
  • Current National Police Criminal History Check.
  • Current Tasmanian Driver Licence.
  • Willingness to travel across Tasmania as required.
