Media and Communications Officer

Limited Tenure: Parental Leave

Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is a community of thirty-eight schools and colleges serving over 17,000 students, their families and over 2,400 employees across Tasmania.  Catholic Education Tasmania are now seeking applications for the role of Media and Communications Officer.

As the Media and Communications Officer, you will report to the Marketing and Communications Manager. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the communications are integrated across the organisation through implementing strategies to deliver positive stakeholder engagement

As Media and Communications Officer, you will:

  • Develop relationships with service teams and schools to identify content and publicity opportunities.
  • Write and coordinate the distribution of information including media releases, articles, editorials and relevant briefing materials.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive community stakeholder database relevant to CET and individual projects.
  • Monitor and report on media coverage including regular collation and distribution of news clips.
  • Develop written content for use across a variety of platforms including newsletters, intranets, websites, and social media.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications for service teams to support effective delivery and understanding of programs and activities for stakeholders and community members.

Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are:

  • Certificate IV in Marketing/Public Relations/ Media/ Communications or equivalent
  • Ability to analyse, review and report on the effectiveness of the audience sentiment.
  • Strong project experience and time management skills.
  • The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
