Catholic Education Tasmania is seeking a School Service Leader – Sensory to provide specialist instructional support, guidance and capacity building for schools and small clusters across the state.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to improved learning outcomes for students, while supporting teachers and school leaders in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑informed education.

As a key member of the School Services Team, you will:

  • Provide expert in‑school support aligned with the Insight into Learning approach to enhance curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Assist schools in implementing effective strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Develop and deliver tailored professional learning that strengthens teacher capability and consistent practice.
  • Use student data to inform and strengthen instructional decision‑making.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Principals, leadership teams, teachers and regional networks.
  • Foster connections between schools to support shared learning, dialogue and improvement journeys.
  • Adapt to evolving system priorities to meet the dynamic needs of students, schools and staff.
  • Travel regularly to work directly with schools, leaders and teachers.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated expertise in your area of specialisation.
  • The ability to support improvement in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment within school environments.
  • Strong capability to work in a changeable environment with evolving needs.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including experience facilitating adult learning.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Education degree with teaching experience.
  • Accreditation C (to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school) or willingness to obtain.
  • Registration to teach in Tasmanian schools or the ability to gain registration.
  • Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate study or equivalent experience in your area of specialisation.
